Bob Marley, Essex House, NYC, 1980

I’ve been staring at the grain in the background of this print—you can see the texture of the Essex House room, which makes it feel like you’re there with him. The matte finish on the paper gives it an archival, museum-quality look that fits perfectly in my study.

The way the light falls on his face in this print gives it such a live, almost tangible feel—it’s like you’re there in the room. The paper quality is premium, too; the matte finish keeps the focus on the image without any glare. A really striking piece for any music lover’s wall.

The contrast in this print is incredible, capturing both the quiet dignity and the raw energy of that moment. I've been searching for a portrait that shows his thoughtful side, and this photograph from the Essex House session nails it perfectly. It's already the centerpiece of my living room.
