I've crocheted a few simple blankets before and this pattern finally made the dots and dashes stitch click for me. The written steps are broken up nicely for beginners, so I never felt lost halfway through a row.

I finished my first Dots and Dashes throw last weekend, and the texture came out so much nicer than I expected. The pattern is written clearly enough that I could follow along without constantly rewatching tutorials, which is saying something since I'm still pretty new to crochet.

The pattern is genuinely beginner-friendly, and I had the stitch repeats memorized by the third row. Finished it in about two weeks of evening crocheting, and the texture looks way more complicated than it actually was.
