إلتون جون، مسرح سنداون، إدمونتون، شمال لندن، 1973

The lighting Bryan Forbes captured makes this feel more like a film still than a typical concert shot. You can see the sweat on Elton's brow as he works through that early set. A perfect slice of 1973.

You can really see the extra care in the stage lighting from the film crew, which makes the print feel alive. The detail in Elton’s expression during “Crocodile Rock” is captured perfectly. It’s a wonderful piece for any fan of that era.

The film crew's presence clearly paid off—you can practically feel the stage glow wrapping around Elton in this shot. It's like owning a piece of that intimate 1973 gig, with the grain and shadows giving it a real documentary feel. I keep finding new details in the crowd every time I look at it.
