The gingham blocks knit up way more modern than I expected, not folksy at all. Chart was easy to follow on my circular machine and the color changes stayed crisp. Throw came out about 40 inches wide, perfect for the couch.

I was nervous the color changes would look messy on a circular machine, but the pattern lays them out so cleanly that the gingham squares actually line up. Took me a weekend to finish the throw and it's already the blanket everyone grabs off the couch.

The pattern chart was easy to follow on my circular machine and the throw came off the needles with a really clean edge. I sized it up to a full lap blanket and the bold gingham blocks still lined up perfectly across the rows.
