I was skeptical that a plain clay pot could manage watering for me, but the porous walls really do release moisture straight to the roots. It's been three weeks, the topsoil looks dry, and my fern hasn't drooped once. The glazed finish also makes it look like a proper decor piece.

I left for a two-week trip and my basil came back looking better than when I left it. The clay seeps water right to the roots so I'm not guessing how much to pour anymore. My only note is that you still have to refill the reservoir every few days for a thirsty plant.

The glazed finish looks nice enough to leave on the kitchen counter, but it's the porous clay doing the real work — my herbs have stayed evenly moist for almost two weeks without me touching the watering can. Filled it once and basically forgot about it.
