I washed these shams before putting them on and they came out just as crisp, no pilling at all. The long-staple Egyptian cotton makes them feel noticeably smoother than my old pillowcases, and they stay cool even on warm nights.

The dusk color is that perfect muted dusty purple that doesn't fight with my grey duvet. They've held up through three washes already with no pilling, and the crisp percale finish makes them feel way more expensive than they were.

I was worried shams would look stiff and fussy, but these have that crisp hotel-bed feel without being scratchy. The Portuguese cotton is noticeably nicer than the cheap set I had before, and they wash up without losing shape.
