Pool party, Palm Springs, California, 1963

The light and shadow in this print really make you feel like you're right there in 1963 Palm Springs, the pool almost shimmering on the paper.

The print captures the effortless glamour of that era perfectly, and the contrast in the black-and-white really makes the poolside sunlight pop. It’s already the focal point of my living room, and I find myself getting lost in the candid joy of the scene every time I walk by.

The scene is fun, but the print feels a bit darker than I expected from the description—it loses some of that bright 1960s cheer. For the price, I’d hope for sharper detail in the faces. It’s a nice piece, but not quite as lively as the original moment.
