Quick Answer
The Arcane Divination: The Lost Cards Dunny Series Tarot Card Deck is a limited, artist-designed companion deck that was never sold separately—making it a rare find for serious collectors of the Dunny Series or tarot art.
Why This Deck Stands Out
Unlike mass-produced tarot decks, this one was created as a companion to the Arcane Divination Dunny Series by five distinct artists: Camilla d’Errico, Doktor A, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Tokyo Jesus, and J*RYU. Each artist contributed new designs to complete tarot’s Major Arcana, so the deck carries a unique visual identity that blends street art and esoteric symbolism.
The deck was never offered for purchase on its own. It originally accompanied the Dunny Series release, which means finding one today often involves secondary markets or special bundles. That scarcity adds to its appeal for collectors who value exclusivity over everyday usability.
Trade-Offs to Consider
If you’re a tarot reader looking for a functional deck with a standard guidebook or consistent cardstock, this may not be your first choice. The deck was designed primarily as an art collectible, so its tactile feel and reading usability may differ from dedicated tarot decks.
The price point—originally $25.00, now around $17.75—reflects its collectible nature rather than production cost. For someone who just wants a tarot deck, there are cheaper, more readily available options. But for a Dunny Series completist or an admirer of these artists, the value lies in its rarity and collaborative design.
Decision Rules for Collectors
- Check Completeness: Verify the deck includes all Major Arcana cards. Since it was a companion piece, some sets may have missing cards or duplicates. Ask the seller for a full list or photo of the spread. Request a card inventory before buying.
- Assess Condition: Because the deck was never sold individually, many available copies may have been handled or displayed. Look for bent corners, scuffs, or fading on the card faces. Mint-condition decks command a premium.
- Confirm Authenticity: Only the official Arcane Divination Dunny Series release includes this deck. Check for the artist credits and any packaging that matches the series. Counterfeit or reprinted versions may lack the original detail. Buy from reputable sellers or verified collectors.
- Decide on Use vs. Display: If you plan to use the deck for readings, accept that it may not shuffle as smoothly as a standard tarot deck. If you’re displaying it, consider a protective sleeve or frame to preserve the art. Match your purchase to your intended use.
