Quick Answer
If you want a piece that celebrates raw industrial design and heft, choose the Kidrobot RAW Concrete Dunny. If you prefer warmer, natural materials and don’t mind hunting for sold-out pieces, the Black Walnut Wood Dunny is a beautiful alternative.
Material and Aesthetic Differences
The Kidrobot RAW Concrete Dunny is crafted from concrete, blending industrial art with a Kidrobot twist. It stands eight inches tall and weighs three pounds, giving it a solid, rock-like presence that feels like a small sculpture.
The Black Walnut Wood Dunny, on the other hand, uses natural black walnut wood. It continues the 20th Anniversary of the Dunny celebration, offering a warmer, organic look that contrasts sharply with the concrete version.
Availability and Exclusivity
Both pieces are limited to 1000 worldwide, making them rare finds. However, the Black Walnut Wood Dunny is currently sold out, so your only option may be the secondary market. The Concrete Dunny is still available directly, which is a significant practical advantage.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
- Material Preference: Choose concrete for an industrial, raw look and heavy feel. Choose wood for a natural, warm aesthetic. Think about which material better matches your existing collection's vibe.
- Availability: The Concrete Dunny is available now. The Wood Dunny is sold out, so you may pay a premium on the secondary market. If you want a guaranteed piece, go with the Concrete Dunny.
- Weight and Display: At three pounds, the Concrete Dunny is heavy and feels substantial. The wood version is lighter but still a limited collectible. Consider your display surface—concrete may need a sturdier shelf.
