Miloval jsem autentický pocit z Iowy, ducha této země. Celý den jsem křižoval všechny vedlejší cesty a hledal dokonalý záběr. Byl jsem nadšený, když jsem objevil toto místo – klasickou stodolu a dokonalé zvlněné kopce. Kukuřičná pole byla pro záběr příliš vysoká, a tak jsem si pro lepší výhled přistavil své čtyřkolky a vylezl na střechu – perfektní. Když se večer začal rozzářit, rychle jsem popadl stativ a vybavení a usadil se na střeše. Zůstal jsem naprosto klidný při expozici trvající jednu sekundu, která se zdála jako věčnost. Věděl jsem, že mám ten záběr. Když barvy pohasínaly, jen jsem seděl a vstřebával scenérii. Je to večer, na který nikdy nezapomenu.

Drove out at sunrise and had the whole gravel road to myself, which made the shot feel earned. The way this captures that flat Iowa horizon and the land's quiet spirit is exactly what I was hunting for. Spent the entire day crisscrossing back roads and never got tired of it.

The detail in the print captures the golden hour light perfectly, just like the real Iowa backroads. Only wish the frame option was a bit sturdier for the price.

The back roads around Guthrie Center really do have that classic Iowa farm feel, and I got a few decent shots of the cornfields at golden hour. But the location itself is pretty spread out, so you'll spend more time driving between spots than actually shooting. Fine if you've got a full day to burn,
