Hyacinth Naturelle (Akord)

I was a little nervous about buying a perfume accord blind, but this one is beautifully balanced—it manages to feel both delicate and substantial on the skin. The focus on the hyacinth really comes through, and it stays true to that fresh, slightly powdery flower without going soapy.

I layered this accord under a plain unscented lotion and it bloomed into something soft and green within ten minutes. Being a focused accord rather than a full perfume, it stays close to the skin, which is exactly what I wanted for daytime.

Wore this solo on a cold morning and the green, waxy stem quality came through almost immediately, like crushed leaves with a little dew on them. As a focused accord it does exactly what it promises without wandering into soapy territory, which is rare for hyacinth in my experience. Two dabs lasted
