Maggie Vandewalle recalls a childhood divided between two passions-an insatiable love of reading and a profound fascination for the natural world. These early interests are the foundation for her paintings of whimsical creatures whose antics often bring a smile or a feeling that one has walked into the middle of a remarkable journey.
I love how this card captures both a love for reading and nature—the illustration feels so personal and thoughtful. The paper quality is really nice, with a smooth texture that makes it feel special to hold. Perfect for sending a little encouragement.
Sent this to a friend who's been having a rough month and she texted me a photo of it on her fridge the next day. The little mouse illustration is charming without being cutesy, and the card stock feels sturdy enough to actually keep.
The watercolor style on this card is so soft and detailed, and the mouse peeking over the book made my mom laugh out loud when she opened it. Paper's thick enough that it doesn't buckle with a gel pen, which I appreciated since I wrote a long note inside.
