Janis Joplin, Royal Albert Hall, 1969

This black and white print captures her raw energy so perfectly—you can almost feel the crowd's energy from that night. The paper has a nice matte finish that really makes the shadows pop. I've got it framed above my turntable and it feels like the room has a voice now.

That throaty growl comes right back to me every time I look at this photo, the black and white grain making it feel like I'm actually in the crowd that night. It's the kind of print that makes you stop whatever you're doing and just listen to the silence for a second.

This black and white shot of Janis at the Royal Albert Hall perfectly captures her raw energy on stage. The print quality is sharp enough to make out every detail of her expression, and it arrived carefully rolled in a sturdy tube. I’ve already got it framed and it’s the focal point of my music room
