My pillows stay noticeably cooler now, and I think it's the wool filling doing the work. It also adds a soft layer of cushioning without making the pillow feel bulky.

I've been stuffing this inside my pillowcase for about three weeks and it's noticeably cooler than my old polyester protector, no more waking up sweaty at 3am. The wool does have a faint farm-ish smell right out of the package but it aired out in a day or two.
