The tension dial is smooth and holds its setting even when I’m frantically switching between dubbing and hackle, which has cut my thread snaps way down. My nymph bodies look cleaner and more uniform now, definitely worth the upgrade.

Wrapping size 22 midges used to snap my thread constantly, but the adjustable tension on this bobbin lets me back it off just enough to keep things intact. The control is way more precise than the fixed bobbin I've used for years.

Wrapping size 22 midges used to snap my thread constantly, but after fiddling with the tension dial on this thing I haven't broken a single whip finish in three nights of tying. The control is just stupidly precise.
