The triangular blade gets into tight corners between pavers better than any tool I've tried, and it slices through roots without much effort. My soil is heavy clay and this hoe just glides through it, though I wish the handle were a couple inches longer for my back.
I've been using this for weeding between my raised beds and the three-pronged head really does dig in without tearing up roots I want to keep. The handle feels solid in hand even when the soil's damp and heavy.
The three-pronged head cuts through weeds without disturbing the roots of my vegetables, which is exactly what I needed for the row of carrots. Handle is a bit short if you're tall like me, but it's light enough that crouching for an hour didn't bother my back. Solid little tool for the price.
