The natural bristles are stiff enough to actually get the dirt out from under my son's nails after he's been digging in the garden, but they don't scratch his skin. The beechwood handle has held up fine even with daily use and being left wet by the sink.
My 4-year-old actually asks to wash her hands now just so she can use this brush, the animal shape totally sold her. The beechwood handle feels solid and the bristles are stiff enough to get mud out from under her nails without scratching.
The natural bristles on this little brush are firmer than I expected, so it actually gets under my kids’ fingernails instead of just sliding over the dirt. The beechwood body feels smooth and sturdy, and my daughter insists on using it every time she washes her hands now.
