JACKFRUIT 400g

Finally found jackfruit that doesn't turn to mush in the pan—these chunks hold their shape beautifully, and the salted water brine means I don't have to add extra seasoning. It's become my go-to for a quick pulled "pork" sandwich on busy weeknights.

The salted water version is way better than the syrup-packed cans I've tried, so it works in savory dishes without turning sweet. Drained weight is decent for two meals, and it shredded nicely into tacos. Finally a meat substitute that doesn't taste like it's trying too hard.

I was skeptical about jackfruit as a meat swap but the texture won me over once it soaked up my taco seasoning. It comes in salted water, so I just drain and rinse before cooking. Great fibre too, which I didn't expect.
