18 kuukauden valmistelut johtivat unohtumattomaan valokuvausmatkaan Japaniin. Arashiyaman bambulehto Kiotossa oli määränpää, joka oli visioitu alusta alkaen. Viikkoja kestäneen tauottoman kuvaamisen jälkeen otos oli silti vaikeasti tavoitettavissa.
