Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen, 1979

The grain of the black-and-white print is perfect — it captures the raw energy of that era without looking grainy. You can feel the stage lights in the shadow detail on his guitar. I've got it framed next to my record collection and it steals the whole room.

You can practically hear the guitar through Lynn Goldsmith's lens—that 1979 energy of Eddie is frozen perfectly in this print. The details in his expression and the grain of the photo make it feel like a true piece of rock history on my wall.

The print arrived well-packaged and the clarity is incredible, capturing all the stage grit and intensity of Eddie’s playing. This shot from Lynn Goldsmith perfectly freezes that raw 1979 energy in a way that makes you feel like you’re right there in the front row.
