The seaweed motif in the cotton weave is so much finer in person than I expected from the photos. I put the 30cm empire shade on a small brass base in my reading nook and the aqua tones glow warmly without glaring.

I was worried the red would look too loud, but against the aqua it's actually really rich and warm when the lamp's on. The 30cm empire shape throws a nice wide pool of light for reading, and the cotton feels substantial rather than flimsy.

The seaweed print is what sold me, and in person the red and aqua swirls look almost hand-painted against the cotton. It throws a warm, even glow across the corner of my living room, and the 30cm size sits perfectly on my bedside lamp.
