2008年のクリスマス直前の記録的な降雪が、砂漠の魔法を捉える絶好の機会をもたらしました。2008年12月16日の朝は、私が決して忘れることのない朝となりました！キャリアを通じて私を導いてきた直感に従い、午前5時に家を出て、自宅から車で少しの距離にあるレッドロックキャニオンへ向かいました。冬の空の暗闇の中で三脚を設置し、何か素晴らしいことが起ころうとしているのを感じました。重い雲の間から差し込む金色の太陽の光の帯を見たとき、私の心臓は高鳴りました。私の前に惜しみなく現れたこの雄大な光景は、数秒のうちに消え去りました—光は去り、瞬間は終わり、ただ私の記憶とフィルムの中に永遠に生き続けるだけとなりました。
I've had this print framed above my desk for a few months now and the contrast still catches me off guard — that bright snow against the deep red canyon walls is unreal. Knowing it was shot on December 16, 2008 after a record snowfall makes it feel like a real moment in time, not just a pretty lands
The red rock formations dusted with snow make this print really striking on my living room wall, and the colors are deep without looking oversaturated. Only wish it came in a larger size, since the detail in the canyon gets a little lost at this scale.
