That spring-loaded arm really does let me rip a sheet off one-handed while stirring a pot, which I didn't expect to care about until I had it. The carry loop is a small touch but handy when I need to grab it for a spill on the counter.
The weighted base is what sold me — I can rip a sheet off one-handed without the whole thing tipping over. The carry loop is a nice touch for taking it out to the patio table when we eat outside.
The spring-loaded arm holds even a half-used roll snugly, so tearing off a sheet with one hand finally works without the whole thing spinning loose. The weighted base keeps it planted when I yank, and the carry loop makes it easy to grab for outdoor dinners.
