ジョニ・ミッチェル、メンドータ湖でスケート、アルバム『Hejira』のゲートフォールド、ウィスコンシン州マディソン、1976年

The way Joni selected this exact image for the album's gatefold makes it feel like a piece of music history you can hang on your wall. The lighting on the ice and her silhouette are perfectly moody in the black-and-white print.

You can almost feel the cold air when you look at this print—the way she’s gliding across the ice feels so natural and unposed. The black-and-white grain really suits the mood of that 1976 winter scene, just like the album it was made for.

The composition feels so intimate, like you're right there on the ice with her, and the way the light catches the edge of her skate blade adds this beautiful, fleeting detail to the whole scene. It's a perfect print for any fan of the era.
