I've hiked the Big Island before sunrise and this captures that eerie electricity under moonlight better than any photo I've seen. The smoldering crunchy lava detail hit me right away. It's hanging in my hallway now and I still stop to look at it.

The crater floor glows through this piece in a way that stops me every time I glance at it—that pre-dawn tension between black lava and pale moonlight is captured perfectly. It’s hanging above my desk now, and I keep finding myself lost in the texture of those crunchy, smoldering ridges.

The moonlight hike over crunchy lava was genuinely eerie in the best way, and the smoldering ground felt warm through my boots. Only wish the print were a bit larger so the details were easier to catch from across the room.
