My dog actually let me put it on without a fight, which says a lot. The cooling effect lasted through our whole morning loop, and it was perfect for that summit photo op we stopped for.
The soak-and-tie method is so simple, and the bandana draped around my dog's neck kept him comfortable for the final push to the summit. It’s lightweight enough that he forgot it was there once we got moving again.
My pup was panting hard halfway up the switchbacks, but after a quick soak and knot around his neck, he perked right up for the last stretch to the summit. Even got a decent selfie of us both without him trying to yank the leash. The fabric held the water long enough to matter, too.
