The dark stain on this oak has a depth that photos don't quite capture, and the oil finish gives it a subtle sheen rather than a glossy lacquer look. Two months in, it's picked up a couple of faint marks but they blend right into the grain instead of standing out.

The oil finish feels almost dry to the touch, not sticky like some stained woods I've had. Two months in and the color hasn't faded a bit, even by the window.
