The standing single crochets instead of chains at the start of each row are a small change that makes a big difference, my edges came out so much neater than my last star stitch attempt. Working it up took a bit longer than I expected, but the finished texture is worth it.
I've made a few star stitch blankets before and the edges always came out wonky, so the neat border on this one genuinely surprised me. Rows went fast once I got the hang of starting each one with a standing single crochet instead of a chain.
The standing single crochets instead of chains make such a difference — my edges finally look straight instead of all wobbly. Working the star stitch this way took a row or two to get used to, but the finished texture is gorgeous.
