2008년 크리스마스 직전에 기록적인 폭설이 내리면서 사막에서 마법 같은 순간을 포착할 기회를 얻었습니다. 2008년 12월 16일 아침은 제가 결코 잊지 못할 아침이었습니다! 제 경력 내내 저를 이끌어 온 직감을 따라 새벽 5시에 집에서 가까운 레드록 캐니언으로 향했습니다. 겨울 하늘의 어둠 속에서 삼각대를 설치하며 무언가 장관이 일어날 것 같은 느낌을 받았습니다. 무거운 구름 사이로 비집고 들어오는 황금빛 햇살을 바라보며 심장이 두근거렸습니다. 저에게 관대하게 모습을 드러낸 이 장엄한 풍경은 몇 초 만에 사라졌습니다. 빛은 사라지고 순간은 끝났지만, 제 기억과 필름 속에 영원히 남게 되었습니다.
I've had this print framed above my desk for a few months now and the contrast still catches me off guard — that bright snow against the deep red canyon walls is unreal. Knowing it was shot on December 16, 2008 after a record snowfall makes it feel like a real moment in time, not just a pretty lands
The red rock formations dusted with snow make this print really striking on my living room wall, and the colors are deep without looking oversaturated. Only wish it came in a larger size, since the detail in the canyon gets a little lost at this scale.
