The chip break is machined so precisely that shavings curl out cleanly without any chatter, even on figured oak. I’ve owned cheaper metal planes, but the traditional wooden body absorbs vibration in a way that makes each pass feel deliberate and smooth.

Set it up on the bench, and the heft of the traditional wooden body just feels right in the hand. The sole glides with a satisfying smoothness that I wasn't expecting from a new tool, and it's taken a true, clean shaving right out of the box.
