이 놀라운 인디언 동굴은 가파른 절벽 바로 옆에 자리 잡고 있습니다. 천장은 수천 번의 화덕 불 연기로 검게 그을렸고, 주변에서 나바호의 정신을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 지붕의 바위 무늬는 다가오는 뇌우처럼 보여 움직임의 느낌을 만들어 냅니다. 흐린 날 덕분에 한낮의 대비되는 빛을 고르게 할 수 있었고, 이 이미지는 제가 느낀 강력한 부족의 존재감을 완벽하게 전달합니다.
The soot on the ceiling of that cliff cave tells you everything about how long people sheltered here. I spent a good twenty minutes just staring up, trying to picture all those fires. Easily the highlight of my whole Utah trip.
Standing inside that blackened cave, I kept looking up at the ceiling and thinking about how many fires must have burned in there over the centuries. The location alone, tucked into that sheer cliff face, makes the whole trip worth it.
