요세미티의 장엄하고 원시적인 아름다움은 언제나 저를 놀라게 합니다. 그리고 겨울은 그녀를 촬영하기에 제가 가장 좋아하는 계절입니다. 해질녘 직전, 저는 얼음 덮인 강둑에 카메라를 설치하고 태양이 마지막 빛을 발하는 순간을 기다렸습니다. 너무 추워서 손가락이 얼어붙은 채로 여러 장의 프레임을 촬영했습니다. 막 짐을 챙기려는 순간, 마지막 햇살이 먼 절벽을 비추며 하늘이 짙은 장밋빛으로 물들었습니다. 그 순간 저는 이 사진이 기다릴 가치가 있는 한 컷이 될 것임을 알았습니다! 장면을 덮은 섬세한 얼음의 장막과 계곡에 떠 있는 희미한 안개는 이 이미지에 거의 비현실적인 느낌을 더해 주었고, 저는 최종 결과에 매우 만족했습니다.
The dusk light on the icy banks comes through so rich in this print, you can almost feel the cold off the water. I hung it in my hallway and it's the first thing people stop and stare at. Winter in Yosemite really is something else.
Waited on those icy banks for nearly an hour before the light finally hit, and this print captures exactly that hush. The detail in the frozen river texture is what sold me.
