Miles Davis, Gleason’s Gym, New York, juni 1970

The archival paper has a beautiful matte finish that makes the shadows in this photo feel alive, and it arrived carefully packed with a certificate of authenticity. I’ve been looking for a strong, candid image of Miles from that era, and this one from Gleason’s Gym is exactly what I wanted.

The platinum print really captures the raw energy of that gym session—the shadows and light are incredible. It’s been up for a week and I keep catching myself staring at the detail.

The silver gelatin finish gives this shot of Miles at Gleason’s such a deep, tactile depth—you can almost feel the gym’s humidity in the shadows. It arrived impeccably packed and the archival paper has that weight that makes you want to frame it immediately.
