This recipe was designed by Bjarke von Holck, who won the first Malt Stars competition for the chance to brew his beer. He envisioned a beer made with local organic malts from Gyrup, pine needles, and a Belgian yeast that yields a dry beer mild on phenols.

Despite the low ABV, this turned into a beer with powerful forest aromas supported by rustic malt flavors. An inquisitive beer for unique wintertime contemplations.

Hannah ★★★★★

The pine needle flavor comes through clearly but doesn't overpower the malty backbone—it's a genuinely unique balance. I grabbed a six-pack on a whim and ended up savoring each bottle slowly instead of rushing through them.

Jacob ★★★★★

That first sip hit like a Nordic forest in winter—the pine needle aroma is bold but not overpowering, and the organic Gyrup malts give it a smooth, toasty backbone that lingers nicely. Took a chance on a competition-winning recipe and it paid off; perfect for a cold evening by the fire.

Leo ★★★★★

The pine needles give it a crisp, almost foresty edge that I didn’t expect, and the local organic malts from Gyrup leave a smooth, bready finish. Cracked one open after a long hike and it hit just right.
