Story Out of the Box

My kids actually asked to put their phones down for this, which never happens. The subject and technique card combo forces you to improvise, and the stories got weird fast. 80 cards sounds like a lot until you've burned through half in one sitting.

I brought this to a family dinner expecting polite confusion and instead we played for two hours straight. Drawing one subject card and one technique card makes even my shy brother-in-law spin a ridiculous tale. The 80 cards mean we haven't repeated a combo yet.

The subject and technique card combo is genius — my niece pulled "astronaut" and "twist ending" and somehow turned it into a saga about a moon bakery. We burned through two hours without anyone touching their phone.
