The marbling of paper is a craft that dates back hundreds of years, and it is fascinating to watch. Paints and oils are carefully dropped onto a thickened water, and are then raked and stretched to create the pattern. The paper is then slowly laid on top and once imprinted removed from the liquid and dried. No two pieces of paper can ever be the same. We are thrilled with these patterns - bold and brilliant. Please note that due to the smaller surface area required to create this effect, this shade will have two seams.

Natalie ★★★★★

The paper shade’s marble pattern is even more striking in person, with the ombrone fade giving it a soft, hand-painted feel. It throws a warm, diffused glow that’s perfect for my reading corner, and the 35cm size fits my lamp base just right.

George S. ★★★★★

The marbling pattern on this shade is genuinely mesmerizing—those raked swirls catch the light differently from every angle. It's wider than I expected at 35cm, so it makes a real statement on my side table, and the warm glow through the paper is just beautiful.

Timothy J. ★★★★☆

The ombrone gradient shifts beautifully from deep bronze to cream, and the hand-marbled texture catches light in a way that photos just don't capture. It's a touch shorter than I pictured at 35cm, but it sits perfectly on my lamp base.
