No, this is not actually vellum - stretched calf hide - but it makes a very good impression of it. It glows in the most delightful way, throwing off a beautiful soft light.

James ★★★★★ Oct 22, 2026

The glow through this shade is exactly the soft, warm light I was hoping for — it makes my corner feel cozy without being harsh. The vellum texture looks convincingly like stretched hide, and the 40cm size fits perfectly over my existing lamp base.

Finally got this hung in the reading nook, and the warm glow it casts makes the whole corner feel cozy at night. The texture is convincing enough that a friend actually asked if it was real hide.

Lily ★★★★★ Oct 18, 2026

The glow from this lampshade is just stunning—it really does throw off that soft, beautiful light described. The vellum-like texture looks much more expensive than it is, and the 40cm size is perfect for my reading corner.
