Acqua della Regina Glass Candle. Inspired by the accord carried from Florence to the French court in 1533. Citrus, petitgrain, neroli, lavender, rosemary, clove and musk. Hesperidic and aromatic. Firenze 1221 collection.

Description

When Caterina de’ Medici left for France in 1533 to marry the future King, she took with her both her perfumer Renato Bianco and his composition of Italian citrus and aromatic plants. Known as Acqua della Regina, or Queen’s Water, it is among the oldest continuously produced accords at the Officina. This candle carries the accord: citrus, petitgrain, neroli, lavender, rosemary, clove and musk. From the Firenze 1221 collection.

Ø 8,4 cm, 7,5 x H 10 cm

How to use

Place on a heat-resistant surface before lighting. On first use, allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface. Trim the wick to 3-5 mm before each use and keep it centred. Do not burn for more than three hours at a time. Extinguish with a candle snuffer. Never leave unattended, and do not move while lit or while the wax remains liquid.

Michael ★★★★★

The citrus and rosemary hit immediately when I lit it, but the neroli softens everything into something really elegant. Burned evenly for about four hours and the whole room smelled like an old Florentine garden, not a candle.

Michael L. ★★★★★

Bought this for the scent, stayed for the burn—the glass is heavy enough to feel luxe on the shelf, and the petitgrain and neroli mix reads as a proper old-world cologne, not a generic candle. Lit it in the bathroom and the rosemary plus clove made the whole room smell like a Florentine estate. Fire

Timothy P. ★★★★★

It threw the perfect amount of light and scent in my reading corner, and the lavender and clove actually come through cleanly without fighting the citrus. I’ve burned it about five times and the throw stays steady to the last inch of wax.
