Description Fresh coat of varnish on a wooden shed. Uprooted moss, wet dirt and vetiver roots. Burnt car tires on hot asphalt and dry patchouli. Heavy slow-drying oil painting. Icelandic alpine fir, footsteps in frozen grass and salt liquorice. Dirty leather, animalistic musk and ammonia.

Each bottle is hand-poured and hand-wrapped in a sustainable Fischersund No. 54 Bandana featuring imaginative illustrations inspired by the scent drawn by the skillful hands of Fischersund sibling and co-founder, Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir.

That first spray really does smell like fresh varnish hitting warm pine wood, just like the description says. The leather and smoke come through strongly underneath, but the cedar keeps it grounded.

I wasn’t sure about the varnish note from the description, but it’s actually the star—sharp and woody, layering the mountain pine and smoke into something really gritty. The leather and cedar come through on the dry-down, and it lasts most of my workday. This is my new cold-weather scent, hands down

The leather and smoke come through strong on first spray, but it settles into a softer cedar and patchouli after an hour. That varnish note is genuinely unique, though I wish it lasted a bit longer on my skin.
