The new Kirra Castlerock builds on its proven predecessor and marks another step forward in our material development. For the first time, the Flysheet a siliconized fabric with PFAS-free C0 water repellency. The C0 treatment allows water to bead up and roll off without harmful fluorochemicals. The silicone coating on the outside ensures longer-lasting water repellency, while the PU coating on the inside guarantees complete waterproofing. At the same time, the silicone layer increases tear and tensile strength, thereby improving durability and cold resistance. The 2-person tent has a dark, understated appearance for an unobtrusive presence in nature.

The siliconized flysheet repelled a steady drizzle all weekend without a single drop seeping through, and the fabric still felt featherlight to pack up. Weather stayed mild so I can't judge the full 3-season claim, but the C0 treatment held up better than any waterproofing I've used before.
