Scorpio Beanie (Crochet)

Category: Lionbrand

A sister pattern to the Scorpio Raglan, the Scorpio Beanie uses the same reversible stitch pattern so you can make yourself a matching set. The beanie is worked from the top down, starting with the crown and increasing your way down until you reach the final circumference. This is where the interlocking fun starts!

Just like the all the other designs in the #MyZodiacSweater collection, for the reversible section of this beanie you’ll only have to work with 1 color at a time, dropping the inactive yarn at the start of a round and picking it back up at the start of the new round.

Like most CrochetHighway patterns, the Scorpio Beanie comes with step-by-step instructions and tutorial photos including on how to check for gauge. The instructions and tutorial photos walk you through every step along the way with no guesswork left for you. The pattern also comes with a stitch chart for the gauge swatch.

The pattern calls for DK weight yarn in at least 1 main color (MC), and 1 contrast color (CC). My testers used a variety of yarns and colors to show off this design - check out the tester photo gallery on the blog to find all the details on yarns and yardages from my testers!

Avery ★★★★★

Working it top down was way easier than I expected for a beanie. The stitch pattern gives it a nice squishy texture, and now my hat actually matches the sweater I made from the same pattern.

Alexander ★★★★★

The reversible stitch is what sold me — I made the raglan first and now I've got a matching beanie without learning a whole new pattern. It works up quick from the top down and the crown shaping came out neat on the first try.

Working this top-down kept me from guessing at the crown, and the shaping came out so even on my first try. Now I want the matching raglan in the same stitch.
