Versatile and convenient, ILFORD XP2 Super 400 is a high-speed black and white chromogenic film that can be processed in C41 chemicals. It is the best choice for photographers who want to shoot black and white film yet want the convenience of being able to get it processed alongside color negative films.

With a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27°, ILFORD XP2 can be under- or overexposed in order to adjust contrast as well as the balance of grain and sharpness. When rated at ISO 400, the most neutral balance between a fine grain structure and high sharpness will be afforded. Its wide exposure latitude can also be used to better control highlight and shadow values, as well as an expansive range of middle tones. Additionally, XP2 Super is designed for printing on traditional black and white papers, with Multigrade contrast filters, as well as on RA-4 color papers with maintained print color neutrality.

Storage and handling: Load and unload film in subdued light. Store unexposed film in a refrigerator at 13°C (55°F) or lower in the original sealed package. To avoid moisture condensation on film that has been refrigerated, allow the film to warm up to room temperature before opening the package. Process film as soon as possible after exposure. Protect processed film from strong light, and store it in a cool, dry place.

Grace C. ★★★★★

Shot this at 400 and pushed to 800 without any drama, and the grain stayed beautifully tight for a 120 roll. The C41 processing is such a lifesaver since my local lab charges double for traditional B&W, so I can shoot more freely. Skin tones in the negatives look incredible too, honestly it's become

Handling this in C41 means I can drop it off with my color rolls and get everything back at once, which has been a game-changer for my workflow. The 120 format gives me gorgeous grain and that classic black-and-white look without needing a separate developing setup.

Finally a black and white film that doesn’t force me to switch chemistry mid-session—the C41 processing means I can drop it off with my color rolls and get consistent scans back in one trip. Grain is tight for a 400-speed in 120, and the latitude handles bright window light and shadowy corners witho
