Casa Clorinda

Waking up to the sound of the pool and then strolling into Campeche's old town for breakfast became my favorite morning ritual. The guides really know the flats, and the whole place runs like a proper Orvis-endorsed lodge should.

The location is unbeatable—ten minutes on foot and you’re inside those massive stone walls, but the lodge itself feels like a quiet escape. The Orvis endorsement meant I trusted the fishing setup right away, and the walk back each evening was part of the charm.

Waking up here and walking ten minutes through the old city walls to the harbor for coffee was the best part of our trip. The lodge itself is comfortable and well-run, and being that close to the UNESCO town made every evening effortless. We were sad to leave.
