II.II Mandala • Masque

The cinnamon and clove come through warm rather than spicy, and the oak keeps it grounded all day. I applied a little before bed and could still catch the ambergris on my wrist the next morning — surprisingly cozy for a resinous one.

I expected something heavy and churchy, but the resin and myrrh settle into a warm, almost sweet skin scent after the first hour. The cardamom keeps it from ever getting dusty, which surprised me. Easily the most wearable incense I've owned.

The clove and cinnamon hit first, then it settles into this smoky frankincense and myrrh base that lasts a solid eight hours on my skin. I've worn it to dinner twice and both times someone leaned in to ask what I had on.
