哥倫比亞河峽谷，奧勒岡州
在峽谷中看到光束穿透是我見過最令人驚嘆的景象之一。被高聳的懸崖環繞，感覺超現實。創紀錄的暴雨淹沒了整個峽谷，公園管理員警告我不要進入。峽谷入口處有一個巨大且極度危險的木材堵塞，必須克服。只有在暴雨過後，我才能捕捉到這「哭泣之牆」的特殊時刻。這可不是開玩笑的。河水奔騰而過，一個失誤或一根木頭就會讓我跌入深淵。
霧氣和雨水覆蓋了相機，但我還是拍了幾張。我必須拍到這畫面。這景象宛如另一個世界。當我敬畏地站著，陽光在幾秒鐘內穿透雲層，將上帝之光灑在側光照射的瀑布上。我完全被震懾了。我拍了三張，然後光線就消失了。多麼特別的地方、挑戰和拍攝。這是一個沒有人會看到的時刻，被捕捉在底片上。
The light shafts cutting through the canyon haze were unreal, easily the most striking thing I've seen on any hike. Prints don't usually capture that kind of scale, but the towering cliffs come through perfectly here.
Standing between those towering cliffs with rain pouring down felt completely unreal, like the gorge was putting on a show just for me. The way the shafts of light hit the wet rock afterward made the whole soggy hike worth it. I've never seen anything like this canyon.
The way the light cuts through that canyon haze is something photos just can't capture—it’s almost spiritual. Those towering cliffs really do make you feel tiny, but in the best way possible. I keep coming back to this piece just to relive that moment.
