Wasn't sure a whale would read clearly at that scale but the lines are clean and it doesn't look like a blob. Sits right on the ankle bone without wrapping weird.
It's subtle but catches the light just right when I wear sandals, and the whale's tiny tail curve fits my ankle bone perfectly. Placement was the hardest part, but this design is small enough to sit discreetly yet still holds its detail up close. Exactly the kind of meaningful piece I wanted to add.
The tiny size is exactly what I wanted for my ankle—it reads as a delicate whale from a few feet away but has enough detail up close to feel intentional. It’s been three weeks and the ink hasn’t blurred at all, which was my biggest worry with something this small.
