Basquiat, A Portrait, X, 1984

The way the light falls across his face in this 1984 portrait feels so immediate, like you're in the room with him. The print quality really does justice to the texture of his jacket and that intense gaze. It's a powerful piece for my wall.

The candid 1984 shot really captures his intensity, and the print quality is crisp enough to make out the texture in his jacket. Only knock is it arrived slightly later than the estimated window, but the packaging was solid and it’s a striking piece on my wall now.
