The heat distribution on this thing is so even that my casseroles come out perfectly cooked every time, no hot spots at all. It's heavy, but that's exactly what you want from cast iron that'll outlast me.

Made a slow-cooked beef stew in this last weekend and it came out with that deep, even heat you just can't get from a thin pan. The cast iron seems solid enough to hand down, which is exactly what I wanted.

Heavier than I expected in the best way — this thing holds heat like nothing else I've owned, and my grandmother's stew recipe came out tasting exactly like hers. The cast iron really does feel like it'll outlast me.
