艾拉·費茲潔拉，Downbeat咖啡館，紐約市，紐約，1949

Framed this for my dad, who's a jazz nut, and he just stood there staring at it for a minute. The print quality is sharp enough that you can make out the small details of the club crowd behind her. Genuinely one of the best gifts I've given.

The grain on this black-and-white shot is gorgeous, and you can almost hear her mid-phrase from the way she's leaning into the mic. Hung it next to my record shelf and it ties the whole corner together.

The lighting in this shot captures her mid-song with such warmth that you can almost hear the room. It's a beautiful piece of history, and the print quality does the 1949 atmosphere real justice.
