Spun it for my nephew and he sat still for a solid ten minutes watching the little horse gallop, which never happens. The wooden base is heavier than I expected, so it stays put on the table instead of wobbling.
The slots are cut cleanly enough that even my shaky hand-drawn stick figures animate smoothly when I spin it. My niece sat there for twenty minutes just watching the little horse gallop, which never happens with her usual toys. Genuinely charming little piece of optical history.
